Jon King
Over the last two years in Western Australia, Jon has been supporting a West Australian State rail station access programme of works, improving access to over 70 Metro rail stations, along with the development of the rail engineering competency framework and initiation of its rollout.
Another year has flown by, and as 2020 comes ever closer, we thought we’d ask our TEAM Mates what they’ve been up to since joining our collective of specialists two years ago…

Having now re-established himself in his home of Canterbury, Jon is looking forward to bringing his recent experience in Australia back to New Zealand and in sharing with the industry the things that have worked well across these large programmes of work.
Jon is a great advocate of collaborative working and in working with teams to understand and resolve the real issues – both in the short and long term. His skills in project management, programme management and asset management mean that he understands whole of life cost and value.
Jon has established, and supported the establishment of, several professional services panels for local and regional governments in New Zealand, and State Transport Authorities in Australia, most recently supporting Paul in the strategic procurement of design, contractor and professional services panels for the 3 Waters Programme in Queenstown.
“Panels can be an effective mechanism for obtain value for money and improved service levels from the market. They provide a level of certainty and can improve efficiency for both the supplier and the client,” says Jon. “Developing the right strategies is something I enjoy being part of.”
John and Paul have a long-standing association and have greatly enjoyed working together again in Queenstown.
For 2020, Jon is looking forward to assisting local and regional entities in improving procurement structures and practices.
