Delivering Civil Infrastructure under tough conditions.........
New subdivision WaStop system
Construction at the Belfast Village subdivision is now complete, with the development successfully handed over to a developer for delivery of residential lots. TEAM Projects managed the installation of trunk stormwater infrastructure as well as extension of the main spine road, and associated works, through the development block.
A key element of the stormwater system was the integration of large (1400mm) WaStop valves at the outlet of the development’s network, providing robust backflow prevention from the adjoining wetland during the winter and periods of high rain fall. The works included a large headwall, SW holding chamber, and concrete retaining wall. Bespoke design was required for these elements and installation was undertaken in tough conditions. In some areas excavation in excess of 5m was required and a high-water table kept the team on their toes (whilst wearing their gumboots!)
