St Georges Hospital had a desire to decrease their reliance on LPG fired boilers and install appropriate electric steam and hot water boilers so the hospital could reduce their energy-related carbon emissions for the future. A hospital of this size could not shut down, so the greatest challenge was to keep the building functioning, eliminate risks to staff and patients while controlling noise and construction hazards.
