Queenstown Two Mile UV Treatment Plant is now live!

TEAM Projects was engaged to manage the rapid deployment of UV treatment to multiple water supply sources in Queenstown Lakes District following the outbreak of Cryptosporidium in late 2023, which resulted in a protracted boil-water notice across the region.

The project includes the installation of five new UV treatment plants across the district. Two Mile (Queenstown) is the latest of these plants to be commissioned and it is now fully operational. Two Mile provides fresh, safe and compliant drinking water for Queenstown, Fernhill and Sunshine Bay residents.

The UV Project is a time-driven and ecologically sensitive project. Its technical, funding and planning challenges required a team    culture of agility, collaboration, and adaptability. TEAM’s proactive approach and innovative engagement with both the supply chain and QLDC’s broader team ensured that the project could be delivered with maximum efficiency, optimising available equipment and resources to support the “rapid rollout” nature of the project.
